So, if you hadn’t realized it, The MAD House is a little branding/design/advertisng shop. From our cozy world headquarters here in beautiful Austin, Texas, we go about our days helping folks understand their own brands and then show them ways to tell the world. We have a lot of fun doing it, especially since our mission is helping build brands that bring enjoyment to life.
Or, to say it quickly: Branding enjoyment.
You can look at that a number of ways. It’s O.K., we do too.
Just because we have a lot of fun, something we feel is important to maintaining our healthy level of insanity, doesn’t mean we shun work. We just don’t consider what we do as work. Or better, our perception of work may differ from that of most folks. Getting paid for what you enjoy. That’s the cool part.
Sometimes, though, we don’t get paid. No, I don’t mean clients stiff us. That wouldn’t be fun. Let’s just say, sometimes we don’t get paid in cash. We do pro bono work occasionally. Perhaps it’s a struggling non-profit, or a cause we feel strongly about, or the opportunity to do some really killer work, or, perhaps a friend is in need. And then there are the times when we want to learn something new, maybe practice some new idea generation strategies, find new ways to expand our shop’s offerings.
Such is the case with a trio of awesome musicians known collectively as “porterdavis“, but with an interesting outcome.
More in Part 2, tomorrow.
